about
The Ajo Farmers Market & Café is located in the historic town of Ajo, Arizona. Home to the New Cornelia Open Pit Copper Mine, the first in Arizona, the community of Ajo is still rich in culture and history. The Ajo Farmers Market & Café is an extension of the Ajo Farmers Market as a brick-and-mortar location. The Ajo Center for Sustainable Agriculture strives to provide a constant as well as online market for local artisans and farmers to sell their products with the vision of creating a community hub for locals and visitors to shop, eat, and gather. Celebrating the cultural and biological diversity of the Sonoran Desert, we built the menu in the Cafe around locally grown crops, cultural and traditional foods, and locally made products, to support family farmers and small businesses. A lot of our menu items are made with Certified Naturally Grown produce grown by Ajo Center for Sustainable Agriculture in Ajo and on the Tohono O’odham Reservation. We also proudly source from Pancho Farms, Ramona Farms, Crooked Sky Farms, San Xavier Co-Op Farms, Iskashitaa Refugee Network, and other partners and other small, Native American farmers and wild food foragers.
